Celebrating the value of lived experience in designing health and care services

Published : 12 January 2026

Public Voice and The PSC (Public Service Consultants) are delighted to be hosting a virtual panel event for thought leaders across the public sector on ‘Celebrating the value and impact of Lived Experience Involvement in designing and transforming health and care services’.

There is a growing evidence base supporting the impact of involving individuals with lived experience in designing the services they receive, and momentum behind the value of doing so.

  • What is required for lived experience involvement to be successful?
  • What impact can we already see in health and care?
  • What can other public service leaders learn from this?

To discuss these questions and more, we will be joined by:

  • Jessie Cunnett, Trustee of National Voices, Assistant Professor & Independent Consultant
  • David Gilbert, Patient Leadership Expert, InHealth Associates
  • Leanne Gelder, Head of Quality Transformation (Improving Practice and Culture) for the National Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism Transformation Programme at NHS England
  • Jo Lomani, Expert by Experience for the National Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism Transformation Programme at NHS England
  • Julie Repper, CEO of Imroc

This event will be chaired by Harris Lorie, Associate Partner at The PSC, with reflections from Public Voice.

Join us to hear the panel’s reflections on successful lived experience involvement, and how to evidence its impact, as well as for the opportunity to ask them your questions.
